Detectives say the woman was approached by four unknown men in Toddler's Cove playground on Friday night.

Detectives are investigating after a woman was allegedly raped in a playground in Canterbury.

She was approached by four unknown men in Toddler's Cove playground near Whitehall Road on Friday night.

One of the men, described as white eastern European aged 18 or 19, assaulted the the woman at around 9.30pm after the others had left the scene, Kent Police said.

The suspect is said to have tight black curly hair, which covered his ears, was wearing a white tracksuit top and white bottoms, and carrying a small white bag around his waist.

Two of the other men with him were also white and around the same age, while the fourth had darker skin and was wearing a green fleece and black tracksuit bottoms, according to police.

Detectives are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

"Police are continuing to pursue several enquiries to establish the full circumstances, including forensic analysis at the scene and checks for CCTV opportunities," the force said in a statement.

"Motorists with dashcam who may have been near the area, as well as businesses and residents with doorbell cameras or CCTV, are also asked to check for any important footage."
