MACKINAW CITY, MI – A "high-flying adventure" is waiting at this Michigan state park near Mackinac Bridge.

The Forest Adventure Experience "is a high-flying adventure through the treetops" at Historic Mill Creek Discovery Park. It includes the Forest Canopy Bridge, the Eagles’ Flight Zipline and the Treetop Discovery Tower climbing wall.

This guided experience allows guests to have an adventure while learning about the park's natural history and the layers of the forest. It includes a trek across a narrow bridge suspended 50 feet above Mill Creek. Adventurers then take flight over Mill Pond on the zipline designed to mimic the flight of an eagle hunting for brook trout. Finally, participants scale more than five stories up the climbing wall.

Mill Creek park, 9001 US-23 in Mackinaw City, is part of the Mackinac State Historic Parks near the Mackinac Bridge. It opened for the season earlier this month. Its daily hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., which will be extended to 6 p.m. beginning June 3. Admission is $10.50 for adults and $8 for children ages 5-12. The Forest Adventure is an additional $11 per person.

The Forest Adventure tours will begin on June 9 and run through Sept. 3 with an experience beginning every half hour from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Run time is about 40-45 minutes. Participants must be a minimum of 4 feet tall and weigh 50-200 pounds. Other rules and information can be found here.
