Onyx Simmons, 3, of Amory, slides his way down to his mother Hannah Moore as he plays on the playground equipment at Ballard Park on Thursday morning in Tupelo.

TUPELO — The All-America City will make extensive upgrades to its playground at Ballard Park hoping to make the park a regional draw for families.

The Tupelo City Council voted unanimously among present members to approve a contract with Georgia-Based playground designers Bliss Products and Services Inc. that authorized the purchase of $2 million worth of Americans with Disabilities Act Compliant playground equipment.
