With a variety of obstacles, unique locations (like on a ski mountain), and scenic views, Colorado has many exciting ropes courses that are sure to get the heart pumping and offer a fun experience.
Here are six ropes courses to check out around the state:
1. The EDGE Ziplines & Adventures
This four-story aerial trekking course includes 110 elements like the "skybound strut." The course has three levels of difficulty and you can enjoy the experience for up to four hours. According to the website, "it's the ultimate jungle gym experience that's an equally exhilarating challenge for both kids and adults."
2. Colorado Adventure Center - Sky Trek Ropes Course
As it's built on several historic mining claims in Idaho Springs, this course is designed with a mining theme in mind. It features over 60 obstacles, elements, and ziplines with three distinct routes.
3. Aerial Adventure Park
Located at Arapahoe Basin, this ropes course consists of 73 challenge elements across 59 trees. You'll have to swing, balance, and zip to make it through the course. There's also the Lil' Kids Adventure Park for children four to eight years old, which includes balance and climbing obstacles.
4. Open Air Adventure Park
This course has 32 different obstacles including swinging bridges, tightropes, and aerial challenges. And it's located in Estes Park, so you'll get great views of the Rocky Mountains while you complete the course.
5. Colorado Adventure Center - Glenwood Canyon Aerial Adventure Course
This two-hour guided adventure will take you through a variety of fun challenges. You'll also get to zipline across the Colorado River during the course.
6. Captain Zipline's Canyon Challenge Course
Tucked into the Lost Canyon and surrounded by rugged limestone cliffs, this aerial course consists of 120 interconnected elements (like swinging bridges, cargo nets, balance beams, tunnels, and more) divided into nine courses. The courses are graded by difficulty much like ski runs.
